GETTING INVOLVED | JOIN A TEAM

Church works best when everyone plays a part.

When you join a team, you help create a safe, welcoming space where people can meet with God and connect with others. Whatever your personality, gifts, or skills, there’s a place for you.

Serving is also a great way to build friendships, grow in confidence, and feel part of the life and vision of our church family.

JOIN A SUNDAY TEAM

Take a look at the different Sunday Teams you can be part of and find one that suits you best. These teams help make church happen across our sites every week.

We encourage everyone to serve once a month on a Sunday team, and the other weeks, you get to be served by others.

WELCOME & HOSPITALITY

  • Our Car Park Team is the first friendly face people see when they arrive at church. The team helps create a warm welcome while ensuring everyone parks safely and smoothly. If you can smile and point cars in the right direction, this is your team!

  • A warm smile and friendly conversation can make all the difference. Our Welcome Team greets everyone as they arrive, helps newcomers find their way around, and makes sure every person feels seen and valued. If you love helping people feel at home, this is the team for you!

  • Creating a warm, welcoming space starts long before the service begins! The Venue Team helps set up and pack down, making sure everything is ready for everyone who walks through the doors. If you’re practical and love helping things run smoothly, we’d love to have you on the team.

  • Our Refreshments Team helps create a welcoming atmosphere by preparing and serving tea, coffee and doughnuts before services. If you love helping people feel at home and connecting over a cuppa, this is the perfect place to serve.

  • Our Signing Team helps make our services more accessible by using sign language, enabling those who are Deaf or hard of hearing to fully participate in worship and teaching. If you are fluent in BSL or currently learning, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: our Signing Team is currently only based at our Feltham site, but if you’re part of another site and would love to help start a team there, that would be amazing!

CHILDREN & YOUTH

  • Investing in the next generation is a huge part of who we are at Riverside. Our Kids Teams create fun, safe and faith-building spaces for children under 11 during Sunday services. Teams are allocated to different age groups (these vary by site).

If you’d like to play a part in helping children grow in their faith and experience of church, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: an additional application process is required for this team to help us keep our children safe.

  • We’re passionate about encouraging and supporting our young people (school years 7–13) as they explore faith and build community. If you love investing in the next generation and helping them belong and grow, then this team is for you!

Please note: an additional application process is required to help us keep our young people safe.

WORSHIP & MEDIA

  • Worship is at the heart of who we are at Riverside Vineyard. Being part of the Worship Team means helping lead people into a space where they can encounter God. It isn’t about performance, it’s about presence. If you’re a talented musician or vocalist who shares this passion, we’d love to hear from you.

  • The Sound Team ensures great audio quality throughout the service by setting up and mixing sound for worship and speaking. No prior experience is needed (training is provided), but if you do have experience, then that’s great too!

  • The Media Team operates what’s projected during the service, helping people follow along and engage fully. It can also include running cameras and livestreaming for our 9:30am Feltham service.

  • We love capturing key moments that tell the story of what God is doing in and through our church. If you’re a photographer looking to use your talent, or you’re just getting started and want to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

JOIN A COMPASSION TEAM

In addition to our Sunday Teams, we also have mid week teams you can serve on of as part of our compassion ministry. These teams support our wider community and help us love people in practical ways.

We encourage people to serve on a Compassion Team alongside their monthly serving on a Sunday Team.

  • Our FEED volunteers play a vital role in supporting our clients in a variety of ways. From packing food parcels to helping create a warm and welcoming environment. If you have a heart to serve others, are happy to lend a hand with practical tasks, or feel comfortable offering prayer and encouragement, we would love for you to join the FEED team.

    Thursdays 12:45pm - 3:00pm

    Saturdays 9:30am - 12:00pm

  • As a THRIVE volunteer, your role is to build genuine relationships, offer encouragement, and provide practical and spiritual support as clients access food and life skills sessions, helping them feel welcomed, respected, and empowered through the love of Jesus.

THRIVE volunteers also have the possibility of undertaking CAP training to become a Life Skills Coach enabling you to join the Life Skills team, delivering the Life Skills sessions and offering further ongoing support to our clients.

    Thursdays 10:00am - 12:00pm

  • In our aim to alleviate hunger, the Stock Sorting Team's primary responsibility is to organise food donations, manage inventory, and keep the stock room clean and efficient. If you're someone who likes to focus on the practical and has a love for organisation, we would love to have you join us in this vital role at our food bank!

    Wednesdays 10:00am - 12:00pm / Flexible

  • Our ELC volunteers support non-native English speakers as they learn and practise English for everyday life, work, and community connection. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, encouraging, and enjoys helping others learn. If you have teaching experience or simply a passion for language and people, you can make a real difference by helping participants grow in confidence and communication.

    Wednesdays 9:45am - 12:00pm

  • As a Community Cafe Volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming and friendly space where people can relax, connect, and enjoy a warm meal or drink. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and helping others feel at home. You’ll assist with serving food and drinks, keeping the café clean and tidy, and chatting with visitors to help make their experience positive and welcoming.

    Wednesday mornings

    Thursday mornings

  • We offer money and debt advice in partnership with the charity Community Money Advice (CMA) who are FCA regulated debt advisers. As a Money Advice Centre Volunteer, you would undertake the CMA training to be a Money Mentor, and then, with support from the team, work with clients to help them find a solution to their budgeting and debt problems. This can take many months and so we ask for a commitment of at least six months to be able to provide continuity of support to the clients. The hours you will spend working on a client’s case will vary week by week and so a degree of flexibility is essential. Client meetings are usually held at the Church Centre in Feltham, but other client work can be done from home.

  • In partnership with the Trussell Trust, volunteers help out on a Tuesday evening by connecting with clients, packing food parcels, and creating a welcome caring environment. You'll be serving the community alongside other local charities and churches.
