Baptism is an outwards sign of our faith and intention to follow Jesus Christ

“Jesus said … go and make disciples…baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commended you.” (Matthew 28:18-20).

He also set the example by asking to be baptised himself: "When all the people were being baptised, Jesus was baptised too." (Luke 3:21).
